The Local Action Group BolognAppennino (LAG) brings together representatives from community organizations and public from across the area of the Appennino Bolognese to guide and manage the LEADER programme – Misure 19 of the Rural Developing Programme of the Emilia-Romagna Region. The essence of LEADER funding is that the programme has to be managed locally with the “bottom-up” approach. Before the LEADER 2014 – 2020 programme started, the LAG managed the European Programme LEADER 2007 – 2013 and LEADER PLUS 2001 – 2006.
The name LEADER comes from the French words Liaison Entre Actions de Développement de l’Économie Rurale and means an extensive rural development. EU financing is directed through LEADER into maintaining vitality and attractiveness in the rural areas by creating jobs and industrial opportunities.
This round of funds (2014 – 2020) is strongly focused on slow and sustainable tourism and typical food chains.
